(a) Effect of media conditioned by hRPE grown under normoxic and hypoxic conditions on DNA synthesis by bovine capillary endothelial cells

Bovine capillary endothelial cells were plated at 10,000/2.1 cm well. Media conditioned for 24 hr by hRPE grown under hypoxia (black bar) or normoxia (empty bar) were added and DNA synthesis assessed. Results are expressed as percentage of unconditioned control media. Phase micrographs of hRPE prior to (b) and following (c) 24 hr of hypoxia.
