The effect of thalidomide treatment on TNFα and IL-1 production

In vitro LPS induced release of TNFα (top) and IL-1 (bottom) from PBMC. Serum TNFα levels and PBMC TNFα mRNA levels (middle). Results are means ± one SEM for samples obtained from five patients treated with two 14-day cycles of thalidomide (Material and Methods). TNFα mRNA levels and LPS induced TNFα were significantly lower as compared with the pretreatment levels (p < 0.008 and p < 0.005 respectively).
