Recombinant galectin-3 is recognized by anti-p90 antibody

Purified recombinant murine galectin-3 (1 µg/lane) was subjected to SDS-PAGE through a 12% gel and electroblotted onto nitrocellulose. After blocking with 2% BSA in PBS for 2 hr, the blots were exposed to each of the primary antibodies as shown: rat IgG2a; anti-galectin-3 mAb M3/38; purified avian serum IgG; or purified IgG fraction of avian anti-p90. Immunoreactivity was visualized by the appropriate alkaline phosphatase-conjugated goat anti-chicken IgG or mouse anti-rat IgG and NBT/BCIP color reaction.
