IL-1 increases both cell-associated and released p24 antigen

Ul cells were cultured in the absence or presence of 50 ng/ml IL-1α or IL-1β. After 24 hr the concentrations of cell-associated (open bars) and supernatant (hatched bars) p24 antigen were determined by ELISA. Each data point depicts the mean ± SD of four samples. †p = 0.01 and §p < 0.001 when comparing cell-associated p24 antigen with supernatant p24 antigen.
