Below are six classes of cDNA clones isolated with an exon 4 probe by screening murine adult brain and kidney cDNA libraries (made by priming with random hexamers and a Fmn exon 5/7-junction primer). The numbers in the cDNA clone diagrams represent sequences from the corresponding Fmn exon. A scrambled exon junction, where a downstream exon is spliced 5′ to an upstream exon, is indicated by a thick black bar between two thin white bars.
