Cell growth in vascular smooth muscle cells in response to β -IFN expression
(A) Effect of ADV-β-IFN on vsmc growth. Triplicate cultures of porcine vsmc were infected with ADV-β-IFN (○), ADV-ΔE1 (♦), or were uninfected (□), and then stimulated to proliferate with serum. Cells were harvested on the indicated days after infection and counted by Trypan blue staining. (B) Vsmc were infected at the indicated multiplicities with ADV-ΔE1 (□) or ADV-β-IFN (♦). Cell counts were obtained 2 days after infection as in A.
