  1. Comparison of hemodynamics and arterial blood gases obtained at baseline compared with hourly samples taken from lambs at conclusion of cardiopulmonary bypass and during reperfusion. Invasive hemodynamics were not available for 20-min sternotomy-only control lambs. CPB, cardiopulmonary bypass; HCA, hypothermic circulatory arrest; PA, pulmonary artery; LA, left atrium; CVP, central venous pressure; 1/min, liters per minute; bpm, beats per minute; PO2, partial pressure of oxygen; PCO2, partial pressure of carbon dioxide. PO2, PCO2, and pH were obtained from arterial blood gas analysis. The remaining values were directly measured.
