AGE-BSA stimulates the MAP-kinases. Quiescent confluent cardiac fibroblasts were stimulated with 25 µM AGE-BSA/BSA, respectively. After indicated time points, cells were lysed and aliquots of the lysate containing equal amounts of protein were analyzed by immunoblotting using phosphospecific antibodies for ERK1/2 (p42/p44 MAPK), JNK, p38-MAP-Kinase and the Akt kinase. The membranes were reprobed for actin as a loading control.
