Bax −/− mice had less hippocampal tissue loss than bax +/− mice after H-I. (A) P14 bax −/− animals (N = 22), 7 days after H-I at P7, had 38% less (P = 0.036)* tissue loss in the hippocampus than that observed in bax +/− (N = 31) animals. (B) A significant difference was not seen in the amount of tissue loss in the cortex in bax +/− vs. bax −/− mice.
