From: α 1 Na,K-ATPase and Na,K,2Cl-Cotransporter/D3mit3 Loci Interact to Increase Susceptibility to Salt-Sensitive Hypertension in Dahl SHSD Rats

Fig. 1

Cosegregation analysis of Na,K,2Cl-cotransporter (NKC) locus with salt-sensitive hypertension in F2(Dahl S × Dahl R) hybrid male rats. Total chromosome 3 scan analyzing marker cosegregation with SBP, DBP, and MAP measured after 8 weeks of a high-salt (8% NaCl) diet. Markers informative for the Dahl S and Dahl R hybrid cross are shown at the top and are marked along their respective relative locations on chromosome 3 in centimorgans (cM). Parallel correlation trends along chromosome 3 are observed for SBP, DBP, and MAP peaking at D3rat10 and D3mit3 in proximity to β2M, which is about 3 cM away from the NKC locus.
