  1. Duplicate samples of 5 × 106 U1 cells were labeled in the presence of [3H]-Dex (total binding) or [3H]-Dex plus an excess of unlabeled steroid (nonspecific binding). Specific binding to GC receptors was determined by subtracting the nonspecific binding value from that of the total binding, whereas the number of receptors per cell (± S.E.M.) was determined from the specific activity of the labeled Dex.
