Induction of apoptosis by β-lapachone in human multiple myeloma (MM) cells. Human ARH-77, MM1.S, and MM1.R cells were treated with β-lapachone, 0 µM (DMSO), 2 µM, or 4 µM, for 24 h. They were then subjected to flow cytometric analysis after staining with propidium iodide for quantitating the (A) sub-G1 fraction, or for the (B) analysis of externalization of phosphatidylserine, as measured by Annexin V staining (□ DOX-40, ○ ARH-77, ✿ MM.AS).
