SSAO activity in serum (nmol.ml −1· h−1) 7 days after the induction of diabetes plotted against blood glucose levels at the same time point. The alloxan-treated animals (filled circles, n = 14) are separated from the controls (open circles, n = 15), with blood glucose levels exceeding 12 mM. Linear regression on the group of diabetic animals (regression line in the plot) showed a positive correlation between SSAO activity and glucose concentrations (p < 0.05, r2 = 0.284).
