Effect of glucose and insulin on MIF production by 3T3-L1 adipocytes. (A) Aliquots of culture medium of 3T3-L1 adipocytes incubated in the indicated concentrations of glucose and insulin for 24 hr were collected (n = 10). (B) After 24-hr incubation, the cells were homogenized and the supernatants were prepared as described in Materials and Methods (n = 10). MIF concentrations were measured with ELISA. Data are shown as the mean ± SD. *p < 0.05.
