Anti-inflammatory effects mediated by G-protein coupled receptor 120 (GPR120) in an experimental setting of interstitial cystitis. Stimulation of GPR120 through GPR120 agonist (i.e., GW9508) and extracorporeal shock wave treatment (ESWT) causing inhibition of transforming growth factor beta-activated kinase 1 (TAK1) and nuclear factor transcription factor (NF-κB), resulting in suppressed expressions of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), iNOS = inducible nitric oxide synthase as well as interleukin (IL) 1 and 6.
