The relationships between the occurrence of cirrhosis, the stage of fibrosis and serum levels of miR-21 or miR-150. The lower expression of miR-21 was observed in PBC patients with cirrhosis in contrast to non-cirrhotic patients (a), in regard to miR-150, there was no difference between cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients (b). PBC patients without advanced fibrosis had the higher level of miR-21(c), whereas the level of miR-150 was comparable among all PBC patients independently of fibrosis status (d). In contrast to miR-150 (f), miR-21 expression changes dependently of fibrosis stages (e). Bars indicate the mean ± SEM
