HMGB1 was a direct target of miR-372-3p. The potential binding sites between miR-373 and HMGB1 were predicted (A). The miR-372-3p mimics and luciferase reporter plasmids with wild-type or mutant HMGB1 3′-UTR were co-transfected into U2OS cells. A dual luciferase reporter assay was performed to verify the direct binding relationship between miR-372-3p and HMGB1 (B). U2OS cells were transfected with mimics NC, miR-372-3p mimics, inhibitor NC or miR-372-3p inhibitor, and then qRT-PCR was performed to evaluate the relative expression levels of miR-372-3p and HMGB1 (C).
