Characterization of plasma sEVs. sEVs were freshly isolated from plasma of HNC, NED patients and HD by size-exclusion chromatography and characterized for their morphology, particle concentration and protein content. A Representative TEM images of sEVs from HNC, NED patients and HD are shown (magnification = 25.000x, scale = 100 nm). B Size distribution, concentration and median diameter of the particles were detected using NTA. C NTA particle concentration of HNC, NED patients and HD were visualized by scatter plots. D Comparison of total protein content in 1 mL of isolated sEVs measured by BCA protein assays. E Western blots were performed using 10 μg protein and the presence of typical vesicle proteins CD9, CD63 and TSG101 and the absence of contaminating proteins (Grp94, ApoA1) were shown. P values below 0.05 were considered as significant (*p < 0.05)
