Propranolol improves impaired PI3K/Akt signaling postburn injury after insulin administration. Phosphorylation of insulin receptor β (A), IRS-1 (B) and Akt (C) and associated total protein levels were analyzed in sham, burn and burn + propranolol (Prop) groups 1 min before (−) and 1 min after (+) insulin injection. Phosphorylated protein levels were normalized to respective total protein levels. Data represent mean ± SEM. #P < 0.05, value for before (−) and after (+) insulin 72 h after burn injury.
