Propranolol improves impaired PI3K/Akt signaling postburn injury after insulin administration. Phosphorylation of insulin receptor β (A), IRS-1 (B) and Akt (C) and associated total protein levels were analyzed in sham, burn and burn + propranolol (Prop) groups 1 min before (−) and 1 min after (+) insulin injection.
