Plasma biomarkers of renal injury in rats treated with pHBSP or EPO following 30 min ischemia and 48 h reperfusion. Clusterin (A) and osteopontin (B) levels were measured after sham operation (Sham, n = 6) or renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI, n = 10; IRI + pHBSP, n = 6 [10 µg/kg pHBSP administered 6 h into reperfusion]; and IRI + EPO, n = 8 [1,000 IU/kg EPO administered 4 h into reperfusion]). Data are expressed as means ± SEM for n number of observations. P < 0.05 versus IRI.
