Aloperine pretreatment represses inflammatory cytokine production in the kidneys. Real-time PCR was employed to assess the production of inflammatory cytokines. Pretreatment of mice with aloperine significantly repressed IR-induced (A) IL-1β and (B) IFN-γ expression, but enhanced the expression of (C) antiinflammatory cytokine IL-10. Nevertheless, aloperine pretreatment failed to show a significant impact on (D) IL-6 and (E) TGF-β expression although IR insult induced a significant increase for both cytokines.
