Release of IL-1 β from ghosts

Ghosts (5 × 108/ml) containing 125I-IL-1β were exposed to either GVB++ or C5b-9 (8 units) for 60 min and subsequently centrifuged for 5 min. 125I-IL-1β was measured in the supernatant. The amount of tracer released by the MAC is expressed as the percentage of the total radioactivity in the original ghosts.
