From: Human Serum Amyloid P Component is a Single Uncomplexed Pentamer in Whole Serum
Ficoll density gradient ultracentrifugation of whole human serum containing added CRP on gradients formed in whole serum, (A) without and (B) with EDTA added to 10 mM final concentration. After centrifugation, the gradient was fractionated from the top, lowest density, fraction 1, to the bottom, highest density, fraction 25. The sedimentation profiles are shown for SAP (□), CRP (●), and mouse C3 (Δ). The latter was added to the sample as a marker of known Mr ∼ 180,000.
