These mice were shown to be positive for the transgene at the mRNA level by RNAse protection assay (see Material and Methods). (A) Total T₄. (B) Free T₄. (C) Total T₃. (D) TSH. The data are expressed as mean ± standard error of the mean (m̄ ± SEM; n = 11 for TG and n = 31 for NTG). Statistical analysis was performed using Student’s t test. The differences are significant with confidence level of p ≤ 0.01 for A and p ≤ 0.03 for B. The differences are nonsignificant (NS) for the TSH levels between TG and NTG with the confidence level of p ≥ 0.05.
