SAHA induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in human breast cancer cells. MCF7, MDA-MB-231, and MDA-MB-435 cells were treated with dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) alone, or suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA) at 4 µM for 24 hr or 48 hr, and then analyzed for cell cycle distribution by flow cytometry. Shown are DNA histograms. The apoptotic cells (Apo) in the sub-G1 population are indicated by an arrow.
