Dose-response analysis for the effect of liposomal ATRA on MMP-9 and TIMP-1 protein levels. BAL cells were cultured for 3 days without and with liposmal ATRA at 5 × 10−6 M to 5 × 10−10 M and MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were determined in supernatants by ELISA (n = 5). (A) MMP-9: 100% value was 28 ± 35.7 ng/mL in cells treated with empty liposomes. (B) TIMP-1: 100% value was 754 ± 661 ng/mL in cells treated with empty liposomes.
