Effect of ATRA on MMPs and TIMP-1 mRNA. BAL cells from patient I.S. were cultured for 3 days without and with ATRA at 5 × 10−6 M and mRNA levels for MMP-2, MMP-9, MMP-12, TIMP-1, and α-Enolase were determined by RT-PCR followed by gel electrophoresis. Shown is 1 example out of 11.
