Endotoxemia induces transient fever in humans.
Eight healthy male volunteers were intravenously infused with a bolus of LPS (4 ng/kg bw). Body temperature was measured just before LPS infusion (0′), and 1, 1½ (90′), 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 24 h after LPS infusion. Results are given as mean (°C) ± SEM.
