Seven days after cold injury to the cortex, WT (A) and apoE−/− (B) mice were injected i.v. with peroxidase and 6 hours later the intravascular peroxidase was flushed out and brains were processed and stained for peroxidase activity. While almost no positive staining was seen in WT sections, the apoE−/− showed strong deposits of peroxidase periodically distributed along the blood vessels (arrow).
