Blockade of spermine uptake with BAP restores spermine-suppressed TNF synthesis.
Human monocytes were pretreated with spermine in the absence or presence of BAP at the indicated concentrations for 30–60 min, then stimulated by LPS (100 ng/ml) for 4 hr. Secreted TNF in cell culture supernatants was measured by ELISA. Results presented are the mean of TNF levels ± SE.
