Effects of immmunosuppressive/anti-inflammatory agents on PBMC proliferation. PBMC were co-cultivated with inactivated intact influenza virions and various agents, including aspirin (A), CyA (B), and indomethacin (C), used in the indicated concentrations to detect their effectiveness. Proliferation assays were performed after 7 days. As a control, unspecific stimulation of PBMC by PHA (1 µg/ml) was used. The figure shows a representative example of 1 of 15 patients examined (n = 15, p < 0.05, SD).
