Insulin secretion of islets isolated from control mice GTK-transgenic mice. Isolated islets (10 islets in triplicate) were incubated for 18 hr with or without 50 U/ml of IL-1β + 1000 U/ml of IFN-γ. The islets were then incubated for 60 min in 1.7 mM of glucose, followed by 60 min in 16.7 mM of glucose and insulin secretion was determined.
