From: Platelet mitochondrial membrane depolarization reflects disease severity in patients with preeclampsia

Platelet mitochondrial membrane potential is decreased in preeclampsia. Mmp-Index of patients with preeclampsia (PE) (n = 16), healthy pregnant controls and non-pregnant controls is shown. Mitochondrial membrane potential (Mmp) of platelets from patients with PE is significantly reduced compared to healthy pregnant controls (p < 0.0001). Baseline platelet Mmp-Index of pregnant patients was also significantly lower than in non-pregnant women at baseline (p = 0.0034)
