At GD17.5, placentas (n = 10/group) treated with LPS (400 µg/kg) for 48 h were harvested and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The female placentas (A) and male placentas (B) were magnified 40x. Scale bar = 200 μm. Black dotted lines divide the trilaminar trophoblast cell layers, and each layer is indicated with black text.
