Proposed mechanisms of Artemisinin (Art) on anti-ferroptosis in hippocampal neurons of T2DM mice. Artemisinin (Art) promotes the activation of Nrf2 to increase GPX4/GSH expression and inhibits lipid peroxidation and iron overload in the hippocampus, thereby suppressing hippocampal neuronal ferroptosis, which contributes to the reversal of cognitive deficits in T2DM mice
