From: Requirement of STAT3 Activation for Differentiation of Mucosal Stratified Squamous Epithelium
STAT3 activation enhances differentiation of normal laryngeal cells. Cells were cultured in suspension 24 h post-transfection. At indicated times, keratin extracts were prepared and analyzed by Western blot. Expression of a constitutively active STAT3 (STAT3C) construct enhanced K13 expression. Fast green staining shows equal loading of protein. Relative ratio of K13/K14 shows that STAT3C promoted differentiation significantly at 24 and 48 h compared with the control in suspension culture (*P = 0.02).
