Motoneurons express EPO and CD131 receptors. Mixed neuron/glia cultures were double-stained with SMI32 (green, A, D) and with a specific antibody against EPOR (B) or the β chain common to IL-3, IL-5, and GM-CSF receptors (E). C and F represent the merged pictures. Coincubation with an excess of respective blocking peptides completely abolished the specific stain of anti-EPOR and anti-IL-3R β antibodies (not shown).
