^aAll the ETP-treated mice received 10 mg/kg body weight/day for 5 d of drug as a suspension in PBS. The formulations were diluted in PBS so the total volume of administration was always 100 µL. Vehicle-treated groups received only PBS (100 µL), or sham liposomes in PBS (100 µL). Percentage increase in host life span was calculated by the formula as described in Materials and Methods.
