(C) Ultrastructure of glomerulus under a TEM (×20K). The pathological changes in the glomerulus and its basement membrane were not found in the control group. Glomerular swelling was observed in the diabetes group. The pathological changes in the glomerulus and its basement membrane were significantly lighter in the diabetes + urate group than in the diabetes group (arrows indicate the glomerular basement membrane).
