(A) Under normal conditions, the Pdxl proximal promoter is associated with acetylated nucleosomes (Ac, green squares) (B) During IUGR, a complex containing HDAC1 and Sin3A induces a progressive loss of histone acetylation in islets from fetal and 2-week-old mice.
