LPS upregulated the expression of BRAP and NFKB1. HASMCs treated with 1 μg/mL LPS led to a significant increase of BRAP and NFKB1 expression detected by (A) qRT-PCR and (B) Western blot. (C) There was no change in BRAP mRNA levels in cells treated with 40 ug/mL ox-LDL. (D) Pretreatment of the cells with 10 μmol/L simvastatin did not reverse the LPS-induced BRAP upregulation in HASMCs. Each experiment was repeated three times and each sample was studied in duplicate. Data were analyzed by pairwise comparison between the cells treated with LPS for different periods of time and the cells at time zero (Student t test, *P< 0.05, **P< 0.01). Error bars: SD.
