Effect of mice serum on the growth of lung carcinoma cells in vitro depending on the serum AGE level. (A) Summary of the athymic mice used for studying the influence of AGEs on tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. Group 1 mice received either control or AGE diet without injection of H358 lung carcinoma cells. Group 2 mice received either control or AGE diet with subcutaneous injection of H358 cells. (B) Spheroids of H358 cells were treated with the individual serum of mice receiving either control or AGE-rich diet. The spheroid growth after 2 d was plotted per level of the AGE-related fluorescence (FL; left) or CML (right) of the individual serum and subjected to linear regression analysis.
