Effect of AGE-rich diet on the growth of lung carcinoma cells in vivo. (A) Tumor growth of H358 cells subcutaneously implanted into athymic mice receiving either control or AGE-rich diet. The individual regression coefficient a was calculated as determinant of the tumor growth per time. In addition, H358 tumors were subdivided in small and large tumors (cut off at the median volume), and the total number and percentage of tumors with either small or large size was calculated. (B) Weight and vascularization of H358 tumors in mice with or without AGE-rich diet. Data are given as mean ± SEM. P values were calculated by the Student t test.
