XN treatment inhibits PCa cell proliferation with accumulation in G0/G1 phase. (A) Cell proliferation, evaluated by the crystal violet assay, is significantly inhibited by 5 and 10 µmol/L XN after 96 h exposure (***P < 0.001). Samples were analyzed in sextuplicates (means ± standard deviation [SD] are shown), and each experiment was repeated thrice. (B) DU145 and PC3 cells were treated with XN (5–10 µmol/L) for 72 h and stained with propidium iodide. DNA content was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results are expressed as percent of cell population in G0/G1, G2/M and S phases of the cell cycle. The experiment was repeated two times, and representative data are shown. C, control.
