From: HMGB1 Mediates Anemia of Inflammation in Murine Sepsis Survivors
Neutralizing HMGB1 reverses anemia in sepsis survivors. CLP survivors were randomly assigned to receive 50 µg/mouse/day of either neutralizing anti-HMGB1 mAb (2G7) or isotype control on d 9–11 after CLP. Whole blood was collected on d 21 or 28 after CLP (4 and 10 d after the last dose of 2G7). Administration of 2G7 rescued septic mice from anemia, as determined by evaluation of the hemoglobin (A) and hematocrit (B) parameters.
