C3 is altered in EAC tumors from nonresponders. C3 mRNA expression was assessed in pretreatment diagnostic tumor biopsies from EAC patients (n = 13) by qPCR. C3 expression was significantly higher in nonresponders (TRG 4 and 5) when compared with responders (TRG 1 and 2). Statistical analysis was performed using an unpaired, two-tailed Student t test, *p < 0.05.
