CCG-203971 prevents TGFβ-induced actin polymerization and αSMA expression. (A) Lens explants were treated with TGFβ (4 ng/mL) in the presence and absence of CCG-203971 (5 µM). Fixed explants were costained for MRTF-A and αSMA and mounted in medium with DAPI to colocalize nuclei. (B) Pooled lens explant lysates (n ≥ 5 explants per sample) were probed for αSMA and GAPDH as loading control. (C) Densitometric quantification of αSMA/GAPDH indicating the fold reduction in αSMA expression normalized to TGFβ-treated explants.
