Relationship between HSP70 transcripts and indicators of anemia (RPI and Hb). HSP70 (1A + 1B) gene expression was measured using WBCs collected from parasitemic children (n = 73). The cyclophilin-A gene was used as an endogenous control to normalize the gene expression data in qRT-PCR assays. Nonparametric Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient test was used to determine the relationship between HSP70 transcripts levels and (A) reticulocyte production index (RPI) and (B) hemoglobin levels (g/dL).
